About

The Wathen Bartlett is a friendly, community run, pub set in the Centre of the village just up the hill from Burley Cross.  It is a freehouse serving real ales, lagers and spirits in a single bar room with a pool table .

Purpose built as a working mens club in 1903 by Arthur Clough the premises was later bought (in 1915) by Miss Margaret Baillie-Hamilton as there was considerable loss of income due to many members serving in the First World War. Mrs Vanda Wathen-Bartlett bought the premises in 1935 and very generously gifted the members a 999 year lease in 1945.

We have occasional live music, discos and other events as well as a regular pub quiz – see the Events section for further details.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.
